More Park Time

The weather is so perfect right now! I just checked the temperature inside the house and it is at 78° - perfection! :) The windows are open and it almost feels like we are in El Salvador (it just needs to be about 70% more humid - lol). Anyway, with all this nice weather, we are enjoying walks to the park, and Edwin has taken more pictures of Tory. :)

Flowers galore!

Over Memorial Day weekend Edwin, Tory, and I were able to get some flowers to fill in our little space a bit more. So fun to just be outside, enjoy the sunshine, and each other. I also had to get a couple of Edwin's favorite hits this softball season.... a ball actually left a mark on his knee for a few days, and a nice purple bruise from a different game. Maybe someday I should get a picture of Edwin actually playing the game . . . hm. . . :)

Tory Singing

Another year of music class has come and gone! All year long in class, Tory listens, and participates with her motions and playing the instruments, but rarely does she sing. So, I was very excited when I was able to finally get a video of her singing.... enjoy! :)

:) ¡Disfruten!

Choo-choo!

Usually, when driving, if the railroad crossing lights start blinking and the lever begins to come down, I feel impatient and annoyed. Now, with an active and hopeful little girl traveling with me, whenever we come up to a railroad crossing, I hope that the lights will come on! She just gets SO excited when we get to see a train go by! She tries to count each car, and says choo-choo the whole time it goes by us. :) SO adorable. I know I am going to miss that sweet, little voice one day. :) Here are some awesome pictures Edwin took of some scenery by his work and a train that went passing by him one day. He also snapped some pictures of Tory when they were playing in the yard together.

Mother's Day

The Wednesday before Mother's Day, Third Day came to Kennewick to give a concert! Edwin and I were so excited! Revive and Brandon Heath were the bands who played before Third Day came out. Revive is a new group from Australia. Both of them sing with Third Day in the first video. I must share how very loving and unselfish Edwin was when, right after the intermission, when Third Day was beginning to sing, I told Edwin I had a huge craving for some cheesy bread from Pizza Hut. Well, he still took off to get me my cheesy bread, having to miss some awesome singing... ah, so loving! So that was my big treat for Mother's Day. But on the actual day, after church, the three of us headed to a park for a picnic lunch. It was very relaxing and so much fun to be together. :) Thank you, Edwin! I love you! :)

Gracias, Edwin! Te amo!

Sing, Mommy, Sing!

Tory loves her books. A while back, instead of reading a book she always closed on me, because it was too long, I began to sing the ABC song to it instead. She must have really liked it because she has this liking for it now. She will hand me a book and say *Sing, Mommy?* So I fumble through a pretty complicated book, trying to make it sound like a song. After I have finished that to her satisfaction, she says, *-gain, Mommy?* So I begin to sing it again, but she stops me and this time its: *No, Mommy, no singing*, with a determined and serious voice. And, of course, we don't usually finish the book. :) Along those same lines, she also likes to always have a book on hand to *read* during our many drives in the car. So today I heard her talking to herself, saying: *O-kay, sing? O-kay.* Then she would turn the pages and *read/sing* the book in her Tory language that she has - SO CUTE! When finished she then says, *O-kay, no singing? No singing.* And she would go through the whole book again in her Tory language without the sing-song effect. :)
I also just had to post these pictures Edwin snapped of her one night. Such funny faces! She is growing up too fast!! The first one really reminds me of her cousin, Gaby.

Luego, dice: *Okay, ¿no cantar?

Easter

Wait, wasn't Easter, like, a month ago? Yeah, yeah . . . but at least I'm putting the pictures up, right? :) hee, hee. Oh, well. We had two separate occasions we hunted eggs. :) First, Tory was invited by her good pal, Claire, to go to a special MOPS celebration, at church. It was neat because they gathered all the kiddos together and told the story of Jesus dying on the cross and rising again, by opening up different eggs with parts of the story hidden inside each egg. Tory even got a turn at opening an egg. She thought that was just great! Then, we all went outside and Tory finally caught on that she was supposed to pick up an egg (any egg, Tory!) and put it in her basket. One time an egg fell and opened up (they were plastic), and all the candy came tumbling out. She got to have a piece, and boy did she catch on to the idea after that! Then it was, okay, I guess the basket is a little full, there, Tory . . . :) Thankfully, we were only allowed to keep 10, so the rest could be given away to other boys and girls who might not get eggs at home.
The second time around was with real eggs. Nana had boiled a WHOLE dozen eggs just for Tory! She had kept them in the fridge, just waiting for Tory to come over. :) She was so cute as we taught her to gently place the egg into the dye. She was so careful and slow! Then, as they dried, OOHHH!! Stickers!! So much fun! Then, on the actual day (a few days later), it again took a bit of explaining, that no, we were not taking the eggs away from her forever... it was to play a fun game of hide and seek! When she finally caught on, it was a ball! Everyone had a turn hiding the eggs for Tory... :) So fun!

:) ¡Tan divertido!
