Mee Mee
About a month or so ago, this white cat shows up on our back porch. Now, a cat showing up on our porch is actually quite a common occurrence. I am pretty sure every neighbor in my cul-de-sac has at least one, if not two, cats (except my neighbors right next door, who only seem to love dogs). But this cat was different. First of all, it did not run away scared to death just because I looked out the window at it. It was very friendly, and young. Secondly, it had beautiful blue eyes and reminded me of a white cat we used to own when I lived at home. Thirdly, it was very tolerant of tiny fingers, and extremely friendly. Lastly, it was, unfortunately, a boy. We pet it and admired it for a while and it was such a joy and Tory loved it so much, that I decided to give it just a little bit of food, because it was also very, very skinny. This might be silly, but I am a little surprised to find that this cat has continued coming back. I still am not convinced it is staying, nor that it is ours, but when it is here, we sure enjoy him. We even let him come inside and usually he sleeps all day on a cushion on a chair. The very first day, I asked Tory what she wanted to name him, and she immediately said Mee Mee. A few days later I realized she was trying to say Millie, after the dog my grandparents were dogsitting for a week. But Mee Mee stuck.
